The wind has a remarkable influence on precision of the point array acoustic target in outdoor range. A geometric method is used to deduce the equation among the shock wave time of arrival (TOA), the wind vector, the projectile velocity, the angles of incidence and the hit coordinates. Then the TOA is given in explicit expression, which simplifies a nonlinear least-squares iterative algorithm and accelerates its convergence. The expression and the algorithm can estimate the projectile velocity, the angles of incidence and the hit coordinates, and can apply to various patterns of sensor array. The error maps of the wind’s influence on the target are provided. |
