This paper presents the design and manufacture of one-sided outboard-driven flextensional transducer. Using FEM software ANSYS for designing, the transducer has been modeled and its electro-acoustic characteristics have been predicted. The experimental results are in agreement with the theoretical. A transmitting voltage response level of 142dB has been measured, thus a source level of 203dB for this transducer could be achieved by applying a maximum transmitting voltage of 1200V. |
