| The evaluation of long cortical bone thickness to diagnose osteoporosis using ultrasonic axial transmission technique is becoming an attractive topic in recent years.This paper presents the progresses of ultrasonic axial methods for evaluation of long cortical bone: the first arriving signal(FAS),ultrasonic Lamb waves and ultrasonic cylindrical guided waves. After the performances of these methods are analyzed,their limitations are pointed out and some suggestions are proposed for further research. |
